Installer show '26 at the NEC
Published: 6/15/2026
Last week I headed over to the NEC in Birmingham for InstallerSHOW 2026, and it was a brilliant opportunity to catch up with what’s happening in the plumbing and heating industry.
I’ve always believed that you never stop learning in this trade. Even after nearly 20 years as a heating engineer, there’s always new technology, better products and smarter ways of doing things. That’s why I make the effort to attend events like this.
One of the best parts of the day was chatting with different manufacturers and suppliers. It’s a chance to get hands-on with new products, ask the technical questions that matter and find out what’s coming next. Those conversations help me understand what will genuinely benefit my customers rather than just what’s new on the market.
I also came away with plenty of ideas for solving common heating and plumbing problems. Whether it’s improving system efficiency, protecting boilers from future issues or finding products that make installations and repairs more reliable, every bit of knowledge helps me provide a better service.
For me, it’s not just about fitting boilers or fixing faults—it’s about making sure my customers have heating and hot water they can rely on, while helping them avoid unnecessary breakdowns and costly repairs wherever possible.
Days like this are a great reminder that investing in my own knowledge means I can continue offering the best advice and the best solutions to the people who trust me to look after their homes.
I’m looking forward to putting some of what I learned into practice over the coming months!
